Welcome to The Aliquando Press

The Aliquando Press was founded late on 1962 to enable its proprietor to learn the basics of printing and binding books by hand. Now in its 45th year, the Press is producing its 100th book: an edition of the journals of the renowned British bookbinder and private printer, Thomas James Cobden-Sanderson.

Majesty, Order and Beauty will include journal entries relating to Cobden-Sanderson`s experiences as an outstanding bookbinder and proprietor of the Doves Press. Cobden-Sanderson operated one of the most influential private presses of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, and its standards of quality of the Doves Press have influenced commercial and private presses for a century.

Cobden-Sanderson was unique in his passionate, mystical vision.
